Is trafficketeering a Word? I think so, and I own it now. And I will marketeer it good.

Well, trafficketeering is my wordcomposition, stemming from traffic and racketeering. Or maybe trafficking? But that would make no sense at all. So forget about it. Yet, I still own it and I will probably make use of it ;)

But regarding more important matters, like e.g. our project. Well, Today we started into what I would call the final beta phase. Only 5-6 days to go so everything we do now, should pretty much reflect the real world once the site hits live status. In fact, it is live already and just because we do not publish the link we do not get any traffic. Things could change over the next days though as I hooked the site up with feedburner today. There is a full batch of work left, as we will have to do make ourselves some thoughts about
- backup strategy (adsense backup, domain backup, mail backup) and
- building a testsystem for testing new releases

Most people forget about the importance of a security concept and are caught cold once they got hit by a hack attack.

We try to avoid this by backing up as much as possible and by having always a hot backup site running to which we can switch the domain in a couple of hours. We might lose a day or so of work but that should be it.

Besides that, what matters now is content. To get the discipline to put each and every day a new story online, to watch the markets and to maintain the quotes. Tomorrow we will have our first internal conference, which we will hold from now on each tuesday, as we want to see each other face to face at least once a week. We can pretty good work and collaborate online but if there are more or less intense discussions it is better to do this face to face in order to get a structured and moderated discussion with results ;)

So, nothing more to say for today. I wish you a good night ;)

Affiliate Marketing, Adsense Income and Having Fun

That is, what our new project should be about. It is from now on 8 days, maybe a bit less if we start on next Saturday, that we will go live.

It will not be a fancy launch with a big party and lots of keynote speakers, but it will be our launch and that is the most important thing about it :) We will finally come up with a project of our own and instead of only talking and thinking about doing one as we did for so long, we will now have the guts to do one. Well, it probably has not so much to do with guts, when you take a look at the site, as it is quite plain vanilla. But as said, for us, this is a major step forward.

The site will be based on a financial theme. We will try to combine two old ideas in order to come up with a new one. It is not a original combination, the web has seen before what we intend to do, but we think, that enough people will have fun to join in with us to play a few or more rounds and enjoy each others company.

Before i get too cryptic in describing what the idea is about, lets just wait a couple more days and let me instead explain what we learned in the last months and what we will put to action to monetize that site:

We will place adsense, which will probably be the major monetizer.

I am not too happy with the current adsense income we achieve from our “250 site initiative” (of which only 74 are actively promoted in adsense and only 5 or 6 have active keywords at all). But I don’t want to sound greedy, as this is all due to the fact that I do not want to put any more energy into the adsense project as I want to get a payment first in order to know that everything we did over the last 2 month pays out. I heard too many stories now about adsense backing off in the last minute that I am really hesitant to find out if out account is in good standing before we concentrate on refining that business again for stage 2.

We will start doing Affiliate Marketing with Azoogle

As you can see on this site, we have now been accepted by Azoogle and are able to provde nice affiliate marketed products ;) Below our header will now be the offer of the month and that is what we will incorporate into our new site too. I am really excited to ghet this kind of web marketing started and I am eager to learn about it.

We will incentivize out visitors

Well, sort of. We will offer … tadaaa … a game in which they can participate and win prizes :) We will pay for them on our own (Imho we are no cheapos here, we will be giving away around 300$ in prizes initially: 5$ daily, 25$ on top of that weekly and finally 100$ for the monthly winner). That way, we hope to get the attention we deserve and that lots of people will join in in getting our site up and flying.

As I have tested the whole evening long some functionality with our main developer which now finally works, I am tired and will go to bed now.

I wish you the very best and hope to see you soon ;)

Launch in -8 days

… or something like that. Well, we are working hard on the mission, hence no fancy updates.

The new story we are working about is actually a very much simplified approach to our overall plan for a sophisticated stock portfoliomanagement and trading solution. In fact, it is so simplified, that anyone will love trying it, even you :)

The reason, that we finally took such a simplified approach is simple in itself: As we still have to learn so much about certain aspects in running a well-frequented site, we thought that it might not hurt if we start with a simple but attractive idea and give the whole thing a chance to grow evolutionary. So, we have a plan thta is looking like fun for us and hopefully fun for our visitors as well.

We aim for adsense income in the first phase but will then be on the lookout of affiliate offers and such. We will apply viral marketing techniques to do the marketing and incentivizing to keep the customers coming and coming.

Well, I certainly hope that we can put everything we learned about the web during the last month to the test and that we will be successfull.

We will go into internal beta the next week and aim for a full scope launch on the Monday thereafter. Monday, the 22nd January that is.

Maybe we will publish the link here first to get the first organic traffic. Maybe you will even get a welcome present if we do ;)
